Description

An Introduction to EU Procurement

Understanding and applying the EU Directives to the acquisition of goods, works and services, while continuing to comply with the UK Regulations, is fundamental to delivering compliant procurement.

Public sector organisations must ensure that they set and achieve the very highest standards in procurement practice, ensuring that all contracts deliver both compliance and best value.

An Introduction to EU Procurement focuses on public sector purchasing procedures and is designed specifically to impart professional, practical advice to delegates on a wide range of subjects.

This one-day PASS workshop will identify the latest best practice guidance across a range of topics including selection and award criteria, framework agreements and competitive dialogue and will look at the implications of the 2007 EU Remedies Directive.

Principally focused on the procurement practices and methodologies required to ensure best practice, the workshop will examine:

  • the background to the legislative framework
  • the procurement process
  • letting high-value tenders
  • the evaluation and award process
  • the implications of CJEU rulings on procurement
  • the issues of ineffectiveness and illegal direct award
