Description
Understanding the Selection Process - Ensuring Compliance
The last few years have seen a significant increase in the number of organisations bidding to win public sector business. It is not uncommon for contracting authorities to receive 30, 40 or even 80 expressions of interest at the selection stage.
Many businesses fall down at this stage, not because of their inability to execute the contract, but because of their failings in understanding the nuances of public sector procurement and in knowing how to respond correctly to ensure that their organisation increases its chances of getting through to the tender stage.
This PASS Workshop looks at the various standard requirements, as defined in the EU procurement process, and details some key areas to consider in relation to how your organisation positions itself in the marketplace.
- Financial Standing
- Technical Capability
- Employment Issues
- Accreditation and Qualifications
- Sustainability
The workshop will look at the key areas of information required, with particular focus on the EU Procurement Directives; consider how organisations can use the sustainability agenda to enhance their submissions; and provide valuable advice on how to avoid the mistakes most commonly made at this stage of the process.
It will take attendees through the selection process with the aid of practical advice and will explain the importance of seeking feedback following an unsuccessful application while identifying how to use this information to enhance future submissions.
Who should attend?
This workshop is designed specifically to assist contractors who are relatively inexperienced in the public sector marketplace and unfamiliar with the selection stage, as well as organisations that have struggled to get through to the tender stage, to better understand the requirements detailed in the public procurement regulations.
Why attend?
Getting through the selection stage is becoming even more critical as competition for public sector business increases. Small mistakes at this stage can see a company fail to make the tender shortlist while recurring failure can be costly.
This PASS workshop will explain in detail how delegates can use the sustainability agenda to their advantage by helping them to identify ways to add value without adding cost. It will also look at the standard selection criteria requested by the public sector and explain how this fits with the standardised PQQ that will be discussed at the start of the workshop.
Delegates will also gain a clear understanding of the benefits which can be achieved by implementing quality standards within their day to day business processes, as well as guidance on seeking feedback and how they can accomplish this.
